Truth About Sin

God loved everything He had created except one thing, loneliness of man for which He created a woman. In the garden of Eden, they were allowed to eat everything except the fruit from the tree in the mist of the garden but the writer of the book of Genesis says in chapter three, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.”That was the first sin (disobedience) committed by the human beings. Therefore, James states, “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” James 4:17.
Sin, in Greek (Harmatia) means “a missing of the mark” Mark here symbolizes perfection. There is no one perfect in this world. Scripture says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Roman 3:23 Thus, a sin became a barrier between God and human being.
A man had a power of choice, with choice comes responsibility, with choice also comes the consequences says Cantrell (2006). Adam and Eve had a choice, firstly not to disobey, but it already happened. Still, they had a chance to repent instead of making excuses and blaming one another. Even to this day, we do not accept our mistakes, but we try to prove ourselves right by revealing other’s mistake. We blame our teachers for our poor performances, we blame about our boss when things do not go well, and we complain about facilities when the outcome is poor.
My dear friends, our success starts as we start accepting our wrong deeds and work on it. We still have a chance to repent and a responsibility to put away our bad habits.
“So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” James 4:17.
